Ending Asthma vs. Cold vs. Flu Problems before they start. Asthmatics could have a serious challenge next flu season! Get a free asthma vs. cold vs. flu manual/guide.

Learn the Best Way People with Asthma can End the Cold vs. Swine Flu before THEY start.

Next flu season, people with asthma should avoid the flu like Superman avoids kryptonite.
History and good sense tells us that. Many times, worldwide flu outbreaks get worst as time goes on. The second/third years are more deadly. A British expert named John Oxford said "The worst isn't in the first year, but in the second and third." He was talking to world leaders at a conference on 21st century influenza. The article was “The second and Third years are the worst.” Some experts say their research shows that the swine flu is the record-breaking 1918 Spanish flu with a hat on.

It has 95%+ of the 1918 Spanish flu traits. That flu outbreak killed up to 50/100 million. Therefore, the swine flu has great breeding. When it needs to change, it should have no problem becoming more of a challenge. It has already made a few changes that could cause much trouble for us. There are mutations that show a low reaction to the vaccine. Also, there are changes in the germ that show a low reaction to our top drugs that fight the virus. The low reaction means that the vaccine/drugs will likely not work on the new strains.

The latest news shows some key flu action in Colombia. You need to watch out for news that shows a raise in flu deaths to cases. This means that your chances of having severe/fatal problems rise. The article Colombia: Bogota stays alert due to increased cases of A/H1N1 flu. Click here/Google the key words for more. Also, notice the buzz around these key words.  This plus a few more examples will help you prepare for the next flu season. From the first reported case in Bogotá, they had 1,744 infections with 74 deaths that’s 4.2% of the cases died. This was according to the department of Health the National Institute of Health confirmed 3,900 cases with 243 deaths or 6.2%.

Update: On June 15th, 2010 there were 16 deaths and 201 cases reported in Kerala. That’s a total of 8% of the cases died. See the article Spurt in swine flu deaths in Kerala, health ministry to send team.

These numbers are huge. The record breaking 1918 Spanish flu had an average 2.5 % of the world’s populace who died. Some areas were as high as 5%+. The experts need to study the situation to find out why the numbers are so high. But, these numbers do not look good. I hope that the experts will have some reasons for the high numbers. Also, another article Costa Rica: 310 H1N1 cases, 12 deaths in 2010 in the first 5 months of the year. That is 3.9% of the total cases. These numbers are much higher than the .5% up to 1% reported in the first flu wave.

The bottom line is the next flu season probably will be more of a challenge.

If you have asthma, you have the top-risk of severe/fatal problems. The normal flu infects your nose/throat/sinuses. Any infection in this area could cause big problems for people with asthma. Even a mild case could cause big problems. People with asthma are 8% of the populace in the U.S. However, 30%/40% of those who are hospitalized with the swine flu has asthma. That means that they have a 3.75 to five time’s greater chance of needing a hospital.

The swine flu has strains that attack the lungs. Many things could trigger the swelling of airways in people with asthma. This of course reduces their breathing ability. The triggers include:
1.    Tobacco smoke
2.    Viruses
3.    Bacteria
4.    Excess mucus
5.    Pollen
6.    Pet allergens
7.    Cockroach allergens
8.    Dust mites
9.    Mold
10.    Air pollution
11.    Auto exhaust
12.    Depending on you many more

All of the triggers could cause an event that leads to problems. The trigger could cause rapid swelling/narrowing of airways. Mucus may form to protect the tissue. It may not be able to leave the area due to the closing of the passages. This might lead to pneumonia.

The swine flu is the trigger that could create a huge problem! As I said before, the 2nd/3rd years of a flu global outbreak are normally the most severe. That being said, many experts will expect the worst COMING AROUND THE CORNER. However, the world expects a mild flu season. The fact is people will react slowly to reports about severe/fatal flu cases. The CDC/WHO plus others will likely take a few months to figure out the numbers.

If you wait for the facts, you could catch the virus. The key point is to look for a raise in the number of deaths compared to the number of cases. If this number is higher than expected, figure that 30%/40% of those are people with asthma. Also, the flu season will be much more of a challenge.

Cytokine Storm:

This highly fatal event occurs when the immune system over reacts at the point of disease. Our white blood cells see the germ first. This immune response will send many defenders to the site of disease. They do not want the germ to gain control of the area.

Some strains of the swine flu could cause more immune cells to go to the infection site than needed. It seems the germ is using our immune system to work against us.

The cytokine storm comes about when wave after wave of immune cells attack the germ. It ends up swelling the area around the infection. Extreme swelling could block airways. This could cause permanent lung damage. In the worst case, a long storm could stop breathing completely.

Pneumonia that may follow flu can trigger a cytokine storm.

Many experts claim that there are no bulletproof ways to avoid the swine flu. I also, believe this for people who are in the wrong place at the right time. I know there are ways to end it before it starts. I can virtually guarantee you will not catch the virus. You must however, follow the system exactly.

They did it in 1918. And anything they did in 1918 we can do better now. In fact, we can do anything better now than they did then. The key is you must stay away from people. And you need to live in a self-imposed quarantine with-a-twist. Some private schools had ruthless quarantine rules in 1918 that had no one catch the germ.
